In 2015, Idea-Tops Award, together with famous professors and academic leaders from 10 top universities in the world, including Harvard University, Yale University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, University of Tokyo, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Paris, University of Rome, Tsinghua University and Peking University, initiated the establishment of the Idea-Tops International Academic Committee. Zheng Shiling, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, serves as the chairman, Lu Xiaobo, President of the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, serves as the vice chairman, and Liu Yutong, PhD in architectural design of Harvard University and vice president of Asian University of Taiwan, serves as the vice chairman and executive chairman. An academic conference is held every year to boost the development of the design industry.

The 6^th Idea-Tops Award in 2015 attracted the 11 designers of national pavilions at Milan World Expo, including China, Italy, Israel, Austria, Turkey, Chile, Czech Republic, Estonia, Moldova, Algeria, Slovenia, etc. The National Pavilions of the World Expo are known as the "national visiting cards". The participation of the designers of the national pavilions of 11 countries showed the international influence of Idea-Tops Award.

The 7^th Idea-Tops Award in 2016 attracted more than ten participating architects from more than ten countries, who participated in Venice Architecture Biennale. On the day of the Awarding Ceremony of the 7th Idea-Tops Award, the forum devoted to 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale was successfully held. For the first time, top architects from UK, France, Italy, Austria, Serbia and other countries were gathered for a dialogue to analyze and reveal the exhibitions and design concepts of Venice Architecture Biennale, as well as to share designers’ ideas and innovative thinking.

In 2017, Benedetta Tagliabue, a member of the Pritzker award jury and a director of the international architecture firm Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, joined the Idea-Tops Award jury. In the same year, Cui Kai and Meng Jianmin, academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering, also joined the Idea-Tops Award jury. The Awarding Ceremony of the 8^th Idea-Tops Award was attended by main leaders of the three design fields：the World Expo, Venice Architecture Biennale and Pritzker Architecture Award，and boomed the high-level exchange of ideas on the same stage. Ms. Martha Thorne, executive director of Pritzker award and President of IE School of Architecture and Design, attended the International Masters Forum and the Awarding Ceremony of the 8^th Idea-Tops Award, and presented awards to the winners together with Mr. Zhao Qingxiang, executive chairman of Idea-Tops Award, which contributed to the development of Chinese design on the world stage.

In May 2018, the Idea-Tops Organizing Committee issued a new version of Regulations, which further optimized the award system on evaluation criteria, evaluation procedures, competition area settings, competition rules, intellectual property protection and so on.

In 2019, the 9^th Idea-Tops prize was specially awarded to a famous architect Mr. Wu Liangyong, academic leader of Chinese Architecture and Urban Planning, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. This is the first time when this kind of "lifelong achievement award" has been awarded.

In 2020, the 10^th Idea-Tops Award received 7637 entries from 53 countries and regions around the world. Affected by the global epidemic, Chinese and foreign designers who participated and won the Idea-Tops Award were unable to participate in large-scale award activities, therefore the Awarding Ceremony was held in the form of online live broadcast. Well-known Chinese media platforms such as China International Radio and Television Network, Tencent News, Sina News, Phoenix News, Netease News, Nanfang +, iqiyi, Penguin live, bilibili, as well as international well-known websites such as Facebook and Youtube, live streamed the Awarding Ceremony, and more than 1 million viewers watched the event online.

In 2021 the 11 ^th Idea-Tops Award received 7712 design works from 63 countries, including China, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Greece, Switzerland, and Portugal. The number of participating countries exceeded the number of previous years and included participants from "G7", "G20" and all emerging economies. The Awarding Ceremony of the 11 ^th Idea-Tops Award was grandly held in Shenzhen, China. Overseas designers won 11 gold awards，and Chinese designers won 7 gold awards. The Awarding Ceremony was also broadcasted online, and more than 3 million viewers watched it, which resulted in high popularity value in today's design industry.
