Doctor of Harvard University, Dean of the School of Architecture and Landscape Design of Peking University, distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars program by the Ministry of Education, expert of the national "Thousand Talents Plan" of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, President and Chief designer of Beijing Native Landscape and Architectural Planning and Design Institute. He initiated the research on the pattern of land ecological security and the theory and method of "anti planning", and systematically applied it to the practice, regional and urban planning and design. Yu Kongjian has published more than 25 research works and more than 300 articles. He has won more than 20 international important awards, 11 national landscape design annual awards, 3 world best landscape awards, 3 International Architecture Awards, and important awards in China and abroad, such as the Global Excellence Award of the American Urban Land Institute and the Gold Award of the 10th China Art Exhibition. Yu Kongjian has been invited by the International Union of Landscape Architects, American Association of Landscape Architects, World Architecture Exhibition and other international conferences for more than 60 times. He is a distinguished professor of Beijing Municipal Government and a consultant of government experts, such as the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Land and Resources and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
